As microwave oven specialists we have often been asked if we can supply low power microwave ovens for use on campsites. This is because most campsites limit their electrical supply to 10 amps maximum, and some as low as 6 amps per outlet. These supplies are also very intolerant of power surges, so when you start a microwave it's liable to trip your mains supply-very embarassing.
We have been able to source some microwave ovens, which we can modify to limit the power they draw from the supply to 5 amps with little or no start up surge.

500 watt low current microwave ovens
Microwave ovens for use in camper vans and caravans.
Sorry, but we have as yet been unable as yet to find any microwaves that are smaller in size than these, but we are looking!
If you are intending to use one of our microwaves with an inverter (in an HGV for example) they will work well as long as you have a 2000 watt inverter, a 1500 watt inverter won't quite supply enough power and will keep overloading. (Most inverters have a built in trip for overload protection). (About inverters)
W e are also soon intending to be able to supply good quality 12 and 24 volt inverters to be used with these microwave ovens.
